Ford Escort Zakspeed Gr.2 – Scale 1:24
The Ford Escort Mk2 was launched on the market in 1975. It was a clear evolution compared to the Escort Mk1, which had been presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1968. From the previous version, it retained the high-quality mechanics, but the design was completely revised to reflect the aesthetic and stylistic taste of the 1970s.
In addition to the more functional versions, there was also a Sport version, the Escort Sport, featuring a more aggressive look and a distinctly sporty interior. Finally, the RS 1800 version was introduced, equipped with a twin-cam 115 HP engine, which served as the basis for the special version used in the World Rally Championship, achieving significant results.
The iconic Zakspeed team built and used a special version of the Escort Mk2 between 1977 and 1978.
