The F-4C Wild Weasel IV was a pioneering aircraft in the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defense) role, entering hostile airspace first to detect and destroy radar and SAM systems. This Zoukei-Mura kit is a highly detailed replica, capturing the distinctive airframe, cockpit, antenna configurations, and specialized armament.
SEAD-specific modifications include:
KB18 strike camera, AN/ALR-53 or ER-142 receiver, tape recorder (on Sparrow Station 4)
AN/ALQ-87 ECM pod on Sta.6
AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation missiles on Sta.2/8
Four wedge-shaped AN/ALR-53 homing antennas
Stub/omni, AN/APR-26 blade, and AN/ALR-46 forward/aft antennas
