RENAULT 17 BLUE #42 POUCHELON/DORANGEON RALLY
Renault 17 – Rallye Abidjan–Nice – 1976 – #42 Pouchelon / Dorangeon
The Rallye Abidjan–Nice (also known as the Rallye Côte d’Ivoire–Côte d’Azur) was one of the events that inspired the later Paris–Dakar Rally. In this demanding competition, motorcycles and cars battled side by side for overall victory.
The first edition, organized in 1975–1976 by Jean-Claude Bertrand (creator of the Rallye de Côte d’Ivoire), saw only one-third of participants reach the finish, with a 4×4 taking the win. The following year, the “cars” struck back and a Renault 12 won the event. Finishing fourth was the Renault 17 driven by Christian Pouchelon.
